1939 500cc RUDGE SPECIAL part restored project.

Excellent project, most of the parts to finish the restoration of this 1939 Rudge Special 500cc 4 valve.

This bike was owned by the vendors father for many years. We have the old brown continuation logbook with his name in 1949.

Dad had started to restore his pride and joy, before he ran out of time. We are told engine and gearbox have been professionally rebuilt. New wheels and tyres are fitted, and most of the cycle parts are painted.

There are parts missing, including exhaust and silencers, and the worst bits are the mudguards. They would need extensive repairs, or we believe Bantam John supplies new ones.

We strongly advise you to come and view the bike before you make an offer.

We have had a quick check and we think these parts are missing-

Exhaust pipes & silencers.

Battery box & platform,

Rear number plate & lamp

Gear change pedal & peardrop.

Seat cover.

Brake & clutch levers.

Rear footrests.

Horn.

Tank rubbers.

Wiring loom.

Many of these parts may be available from the Rudge Enthusiast Club's excellent spares schemes.
